Carry, Don’t Crush
Scripture:
“We who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of those who are not strong, and not just please ourselves.” — Romans 15:1 (CJB)
Reflection:
One of the greatest signs of spiritual maturity is not how loud we speak, how much scripture we know, or how “strong” we appear—it’s how we treat those who are struggling.
Paul reminds us that strength in Christ was never meant to elevate ourselves above others. It was meant to help carry others through their battles. Everyone is fighting something we may not fully see: fear, addiction, grief, loneliness, failure, shame, exhaustion, or doubt.
The world often says, “Get over it.”
Jesus says, “Help carry it.”
As believers, we are called to be restorers, encouragers, and burden-bearers. Not crushing people with judgment, but lifting them with grace and truth. Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is simply stand beside someone until they can stand again on their own.
Encouragement:
Today, ask God to show you someone who needs encouragement instead of criticism. Your strength may be the very thing God uses to help another person keep moving forward. Carry others the way Messiah carries you every single day.
