Do Today’s Work Today
Scripture:
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
— Genesis 1:1 (CJB)
Reflection:
When God created the world, He didn’t rush the process. He didn’t create light and then worry about the stars. He didn’t form the land and stress about humanity. Each day had its purpose. Each task had its time.
He said, “Let there be light.” And there was light.
Then the next day, something new.
How often do we carry the weight of tomorrow while neglecting the assignment of today? We stress about events weeks away. We replay scenarios we can’t control. We panic over outcomes that are inevitable.
Ask yourself:
Is there anything I can do about it right now?
If not, what good does the worry serve?
When we obsess over what’s coming, we miss what’s in front of us. Anxiety steals focus. And stolen focus leads to unfinished obedience.
Even God modeled order. Focus. Completion. And rest.
The next thing didn’t matter until the current thing was done.
Encouragement:
Handle today’s responsibility with excellence.
Release tomorrow back to the One who already stands in it.
Do today’s work today.
The rest will fall into place.
