Do You Know Where Your Strength Comes From?

Scripture (CJB):

“Adonai is my strength and my shield; I trust in him, and he helps me.”

—Psalm 28:7 (CJB)

Reflection:

Twice in the last two youth weekends I served, the enemy tried to take me out—once through my knee, and this last time through my neck and shoulder. I could have easily folded. I could have gone home. I could have called it in, and no one would have blamed me.

But I stood up and said, no—I’m needed here.

That strength didn’t come from my body. It didn’t come from grit or toughness. It came from Christ. He carried me. He sustained me. He saw me through, just like I knew He would.

The enemy wanted me to give up. He wanted me to phone it in and walk away. But he forgets something important—I know the battle has already been won. No matter how defeated we may feel in our flesh, when our eyes stay fixed on Christ, failure is not the end of our story.

Encouragement:

Don’t let your flesh—or the enemy—deceive you into thinking you’re done. Know where your strength comes from. Remember that the battle has already been won. Stand firm. Keep pushing forward. Keep your eyes on Christ.

You will not fail—because He never has.
