Don’t Ask for the A Before Taking the Test
Scripture (CJB):
“Consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials; for you know that the testing of your trust produces perseverance.”
— Ya‘akov (James) 1:2–3
Reflection:
So often we pray for the outcome before we’re willing to walk through the process. We ask God for the blessing, the breakthrough, the promotion, the healing — but we hesitate when the testing comes.
Yet Scripture reminds us that growth doesn’t happen without testing. Faith isn’t proven in comfort; it’s revealed under pressure. Just like in life, you don’t receive the grade before you take the test. The test is what shows what you’ve learned, what you trust, and who you rely on.
God is not withholding the “A.” He’s preparing you for it.
Encouragement:
If you’re in a season that feels hard, stretching, or uncomfortable, don’t rush past it. Lean into God instead of asking Him to remove it too quickly. Trust that He’s teaching you something eternal. Stay faithful. Stay obedient. Stay surrendered.
The test is not meant to break you — it’s meant to build you.
