Don’t Forget the Gift
Scripture (CJB):
“Every good act of giving and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father who made the heavenly lights.” — Ya‘akov (James) 1:17
Reflection:
There are gifts in life we treasure—things given by someone special that once meant the world to us. Over time, though, even the most meaningful gifts can become familiar. We still use them, but we forget the heart behind them. We forget the giver.
And the same can happen with the greatest gift of all—the gift of salvation, the presence of the Holy Spirit, and the daily access we have to our Father’s voice. Not because we don’t value it, but because life gets loud. Distractions creep in. Routine takes over. Before we know it, that sense of “something feels off” begins to settle in, not because God stepped away, but because we drifted from the daily closeness we were meant to have with Him.
Just like a best friend you talk to every day—when the calls stop, the connection feels different. Not broken… just distant. And all it takes to fix it is returning to the conversation.
When we stay in the Word, stay in prayer, and keep sharing what God has done for us, the gift stays fresh. The fire stays lit. The connection stays strong.
Encouragement:
Don’t forget the gift. Cherish it. Use it. Share it. Let it shape your day and guard your heart. The more you stay connected, the more alive you will feel—because His gift is not meant to be occasional… it’s meant to be your lifeline.
