Don’t Use Religion as an Escape from Reality
Faith isn’t meant to help us avoid reality—it gives us the strength to face it.
Sometimes it’s tempting to hide behind religious words instead of dealing with the hard things in front of us. We say, “I’m just trusting God,” while avoiding difficult conversations, refusing to forgive, ignoring sin, neglecting responsibilities, or failing to help those in need.
Jesus never used faith to escape reality. He stepped into it. He touched the sick, confronted hypocrisy, carried the cross, and faced suffering with perfect obedience to the Father.
Real faith doesn’t run from life’s battles—it walks through them with Christ.
Ask yourself today: Am I using my relationship with God to transform my life, or am I using religion to avoid the very things He’s calling me to face?
“Be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.” — James 1:22
