Given Much, Required Much

Given Much, Required Much

Scripture:

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; from someone who has been entrusted with much, even more will be asked.”

— Luke 12:48b, CJB

Reflection:

Being blessed is a beautiful thing, but blessing also carries responsibility. The more God places in our hands—time, wisdom, resources, influence, gifts, relationships—the more He expects us to steward well. This is not meant to crush us with pressure, but to awaken us to purpose.

Too often people pray to receive more, but forget that increase is tied to accountability. If God gives you a voice, it should be used to encourage. If He gives you provision, it should be used to help others. If He gives you leadership, it should be marked by humility. If He gives you knowledge of His Word, it should shape the way you live, not just the way you speak.

We are not called to simply hold what God has given us. We are called to multiply it for His glory. The question is not just, “What has God given me?” The real question is, “What am I doing with what He gave me?”

A life surrendered to Christ understands that blessing is not ownership—it is stewardship.

Encouragement:

Do not run from responsibility. Embrace it with gratitude. The very fact that God has entrusted you with much means He sees something in you worth using for His Kingdom. Walk faithfully. Serve humbly. Love deeply. And remember: what God places in your hands was never just for you—it was meant to flow through you.
