God Knows How to Get Through to You

“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.” — John 10:27 NKJV

Have you ever noticed how God has a way of getting your attention?

Sometimes it’s through a sermon, a conversation, a song, or a passage of Scripture you’ve read a hundred times before. Other times, it’s through a difficult season, a closed door, or a moment when everything around you seems to fall apart.

But here’s something I’ve come to understand: God knows exactly how to get through to you.

He knows your heart. He knows your struggles. He knows what you’ve been holding on to, what you’ve been running from, and what you’ve been unwilling to surrender.

And He knows how to reach you in ways that others cannot.

Think about Jonah. God told him to go to Nineveh, but Jonah ran in the opposite direction. Yet even in his disobedience, God pursued him. It took a storm and the belly of a great fish before Jonah finally turned back toward God’s calling.

Think about Saul on the road to Damascus. He wasn’t looking for Jesus. In fact, he was actively persecuting those who followed Him. But Jesus met him right there on that road, and his life was forever changed.

And then there’s Elijah. God wasn’t in the great wind, the earthquake, or the fire. Instead, Elijah encountered Him through a still, small voice.

Different men. Different circumstances. Different ways God reached them.

The same God.

Sometimes we become so focused on how we expect God to speak that we overlook what He’s already showing us.

We ask God for direction, but resist when His Word challenges our desires. We pray for change, but hold tightly to the very things He’s calling us to release.

And sometimes we mistake God’s patience for His silence.

But just because you haven’t recognized His voice doesn’t mean He hasn’t been speaking.

God doesn’t need to compete with the noise of this world. He knows how to reach the heart of His children. The question is whether we’re willing to listen and obey.

Here’s my challenge for you today:

Instead of asking God to speak louder, ask Him to help you listen more closely.

Instead of telling Him how you want Him to answer, surrender to what He’s already revealed.

And instead of waiting for some extraordinary sign, open His Word and allow the Holy Spirit to work in your heart.

Because sometimes the greatest obstacle isn’t that God hasn’t spoken.

It’s that we haven’t been willing to hear what He’s saying.

God knows how to get through to you. But when He does, will you respond?
