Hide or Stand?

“Be strong, and let your courage take hold, all you who put your hope in Adonai.”

—Psalm 31:25 (CJB)

When things get tough, we all face a choice: hide from the world or stand up and be the man God has called us to be. It’s easy to retreat—to worry, isolate, sleep it off, or pull the covers over our heads and hope tomorrow feels different. I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to let fear and stress keep me stuck.

But I’ve learned this: I can’t see God’s path if I’m hiding from life.

We all make mistakes. We all mess things up at times. But God never leaves us without a way forward. He always provides a path—sometimes narrow, sometimes uncomfortable, but always purposeful. When I stop turning inward and start turning to God, I find guidance, peace, and direction. Not because the situation instantly changes, but because my posture does.

Faith isn’t pretending everything is fine—it’s standing up anyway.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed today, don’t hide. Stand. Take responsibility where you need to. Fix what you can. Trust God with what you can’t. Lean on His Word, lean into prayer, and take the next step He puts in front of you. Courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s obedience in the middle of it. God is faithful, and He will meet you on the path He’s prepared for you.
