Instead of Living for Heaven, Live in Heaven
Scripture:
“But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we eagerly await the Deliverer, the Lord Yeshua the Messiah.”
— Epistle to the Philippians 3:20 (CJB)
Reflection:
Too often we live like heaven is a destination we’re trying to earn one day.
We say, “One day I’ll get there.”
“One day I’ll rest.”
“One day things will be perfect.”
But Scripture tells us something bold — our citizenship is in heaven. Not will be. Not someday. Is.
That means we don’t wake up striving toward heaven.
We wake up representing it.
Living for heaven can sometimes make us passive — waiting.
Living in heaven makes us intentional — active.
When you live in heaven:
- You forgive quicker.
- You speak differently.
- You serve without keeping score.
- You love without conditions.
- You carry peace into chaos.
Heaven is not just a future promise.
It is a present identity.
You are not trying to become a citizen.
You already are one.
So walk like it. Speak like it. Love like it.
Encouragement:
Today, don’t just talk about heaven — demonstrate it.
Let someone experience heaven because they experienced you.
You don’t have to wait for eternity to live differently.
You can bring heaven into every room you step into.
