Thought of The Day

Jesus Meets You Where You Are

June 28, 2026, 5:00 AM

I recently had the honor of officiating a funeral for a very special woman whom I never had the opportunity to meet. I know she was special because of the stories her family shared.

One story, told by her brother, has stayed with me. After spending time in prison, the day he was released, his sister didn’t wait outside in the truck or in the parking lot. She walked inside and waited for him where he was. When he came out, she simply said, “Let’s go home, brother.”

That story reminded me of Jesus.

We have all been imprisoned in one way or another—by sin, shame, guilt, addiction, fear, or our past. Yet Jesus doesn’t wait for us to clean ourselves up before coming to Him. He meets us right where we are. And when we are ready to be set free, He is already there, reaching out His hand and saying, “Let’s go home.”

You don’t have to earn His love. You don’t have to fix yourself first. Just reach out to the One who has been waiting for you all along.

Scripture: “Come to me, all of you who are struggling and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (CJB)

Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for meeting me where I am. Thank You for loving me even in my brokenness and for calling me home. Help me to trust You, walk with You, and follow wherever You lead. Amen.

Challenge:
Whatever prison you find yourself in today, take one step toward Jesus. Listen for His voice saying, “Let’s go home.”

Blessings,
