Knowing, Not Just Believing

May 30, 2025, 9:27 AM

My brother sent me a poem that started with people always ask me,

“Do you believe in God?”

And the powerful response was “I always say no” below is my take on belief in God

“I do not believe in God.

Because belief can be uncertain—like believing in something you can’t feel or hoping something might be true. Praying that someone will be healed and then walking around sad because they are sick.

I know God.

I trust Him.

I love Him.

Faith is not just believing—it is knowing, trusting, and walking with Him every day no matter what the circumstances are. Knowing he will provide.”

So many people stop at belief—a distant, maybe-He’s-real kind of faith. But our walk with the Lord was never meant to be unsure. Scripture tells us:

“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” – Hebrews 11:1 (ESV)

God is not an idea or a tradition. He is a living Father, a constant Shepherd, a faithful Friend. And just like we know our loved ones, when we spend time with Him, when we cry out in the night and feel His peace, when we see His hand move in our lives—we don’t just believe anymore… we know.

“I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until that day.” – 2 Timothy 1:12

So today, I challenge you not to settle for belief alone. Lean in. Listen. Trust. Know Him. Walk with Him.

Faith isn’t wishful thinking. It’s living in the certainty that our God is real, He is good, and He is with us. Always.
