As I sit here this morning, I’ve made some hard decisions—decisions I know I can’t walk out alone.
I’ve decided to quit smoking. It may have only been a few hours, but it’s a start. A real start. One I’m choosing to stand firm in—with God’s strength, not just my own. Because His Word reminds me, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” —Philippians 4:13
I’ve also chosen to make serious changes in other areas of my life:
- Cutting back on spending
- Practicing more discernment with my time and resources
- Saying “no” when I need to
- Trusting that I don’t have to be everything to everyone
Here’s what I’m learning:
I can give 10% of myself to everyone…
or
I can give 100% of myself to the few that God has truly called me to serve in this season.
This doesn’t mean turning anyone away. It means listening more closely to the Spirit’s direction—pointing people to others who can give them the attention, care, and love they deserve when I cannot.
We all want to help, but sometimes helping means humbling ourselves and recognizing that we aren’t the Savior—Jesus is.
And let’s be honest… none of these changes are comfortable.
But change doesn’t happen in comfort zones.
Just like working out, growth requires tension.
Strength requires resistance.
Transformation requires discomfort.
Jesus didn’t call us to easy—He called us to follow Him. And that walk often means picking up a cross, not a cushion.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind…” —Romans 12:2
So today, I lean into discomfort.
I choose obedience over convenience.
I choose transformation over stagnation.
And I trust that even when it’s hard, He is still good.
If you’re walking through change too, I want to remind you—you’re not alone. You’re never alone. God is with you, and you’ve got brothers and sisters who’ve got your back.
Let’s get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
That’s where the growth lives.
