Priorities and Purpose

Life groups and small groups are designed to strengthen us, sharpen us, and prepare us to walk out our calling. They’re not meant for us to stay idle, but to grow so that we can pour into others.

Jesus Himself modeled this—He didn’t remain in one place forever. He fulfilled the work the Father gave Him in that season, then moved forward in obedience, even when there was more He could have done. His purpose was not about comfort, but about fulfilling His Father’s will.

Pastor Kendall once said, “You can give 10% of yourself to everybody and leave them empty, or you can give 100% of yourself to a few and leave them full.” That reminds me to stop and ask:

  • Am I spreading myself too thin?
  • Am I giving my best where God has truly called me?
  • Am I living in His purpose, or just staying busy?

When we learn to prioritize with God’s direction, our lives shift from scattered activity to Spirit-led purpose. And when we walk in purpose, we stop running on empty and start pouring out living water that truly fills others.

“Make it your ambition to live quietly and peacefully, to mind your own business and to earn your living… so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and you will not be dependent on anyone.”

(1 Thessalonians 4:11–12, CJB)
