See the Good Before It’s Gone
I hear it so many times from brothers and sisters alike: “I can do all these nice things—show kindness, serve, love, give—and those things often go unnoticed. But the one mistake I make? That’s what gets magnified.”
And it struck me… how often do we do that with the people around us? Our spouses, our friends, even our brothers and sisters in Christ? We can overlook a thousand little acts of love and kindness, yet we’re quick to pounce on the one misstep.
But Scripture calls us to a different way. “Therefore encourage each other, and build each other up—just as you are doing.” (1 Thessalonians 5:11 CJB). Instead of waiting for someone to fail so we can criticize, what if we chose to notice the good and say, “Thank you. I appreciate you”?
Because here’s the truth: if we don’t appreciate what we have now, we may one day open our eyes and realize it’s gone. And only then will we understand all the good that person did for us. Don’t let gratitude come too late.
So today, I challenge you: stop focusing on the failures and start celebrating the good. Speak life. Give thanks. Show appreciation. Because love grows where gratitude is sown.
