Sometimes Even Leaders Need to Be Led

Scripture:

“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.” — Mishlei (Proverbs) 15:22, CJB

Reflection:

Even the strongest among us—the ones others look to for guidance, direction, and encouragement—reach moments where the weight feels heavy. Leadership doesn’t make a person invincible; it simply means God has entrusted them with influence. And even Moses, David, Paul, and the disciples had moments where they needed someone to steady them, speak into them, or guide them back to center.

The world teaches leaders to stand alone. But Scripture teaches leaders to stay surrendered, teachable, and connected. God never designed leadership to be a solo climb. Even Jesus surrounded Himself with disciples, walked in unity with the Father, and modeled dependence on prayer.

True leadership is not proven by how much weight you can carry on your own—it’s proven by how willingly you let God lead you, and how humbly you allow others to pour into your life when needed.

Encouragement:

If you’ve been carrying more than your heart can handle, take a breath. You’re not failing—you’re being invited. Let God lead you today. Let a brother or sister stand with you. A leader who can be led is a leader God can use powerfully.

The hardest thing to do is for a strong person to allow others to see you at your weakest moments. I retreat and isolate to just me a God. Why, because people have always let me down. The Father never has.
I know in my head that everyone needs counsel, I am learning to allow God to lead me to the right counsel
