Stop Measuring Your Worth
How many of us struggle to understand our own worth?
We look in the mirror and immediately see what we wish were different. We look at someone else and notice what they have that we don’t. We compare their gifts to ours, their success to ours, their appearance to ours, even their walk with God to ours.
And somewhere in all that comparison, we forget something important:
God never asked you to be them.
“I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.”
— Psalm 139:14
You were not accidentally given your personality, your gifts, your story, or even some of the things about yourself you struggle to appreciate. God knows you completely—and He created you intentionally.
Comparison makes us focus on what we believe we’re missing. God wants us to recognize what He has already placed within us.
Maybe there are parts of yourself that you have spent years criticizing. Maybe you’ve convinced yourself that you’re not smart enough, attractive enough, successful enough, strong enough, spiritual enough, or simply enough.
But what if today, instead of criticizing those places, you surrendered them to God?
“Lord, help me see myself the way You see me. Help me stop measuring my worth against someone You never created me to be.”
There is freedom when you stop trying to become somebody else and start becoming the person God created you to be.
You are unique.
You are intentional.
You have purpose.
Your worth isn’t determined by how you compare to someone else.
Your worth is found in the One who created you.
Question for today:
What part of yourself have you struggled to see the beauty in—and are you willing to surrender that insecurity to God today?
