“I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”
—3 John 1:4
This weekend, I served until my body was sore and my energy was gone—but in my weakness, Christ was my strength. I saw men and women give of themselves as spiritual mothers and fathers, pouring out love not just to the youth, but to one another, selflessly. That is the heart of Christ—laying down one’s life for others (John 15:13).
And then I walked through my door, and my son texted me, telling me he had a moment with the Holy Spirit where he gave it all to God—and that he felt my prayers.
That’s when I realized: this is legacy. Not the kind that fades, but the kind that multiplies.
We don’t always get to see the harvest after we’ve labored in the field, but today I saw a glimpse—and it brought me to my knees. When we serve others with a mother’s heart or a father’s love, we reflect our Heavenly Father who never withholds His love, even when we’re weary. And when our children respond to the Spirit’s call? That’s the fruit of faithfulness.
So if you’re tired, worn out, or questioning whether your sacrifice makes a difference—remember this:
You are planting seeds in soil you may never stand on—but God is faithful to bring the increase.
“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.”
