The Harvest Is Many
Scripture:
“Then He said to His talmidim, ‘The harvest is rich, but the workers are few. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will keep sending out workers into His harvest.’” — Matthew 9:37-38 (CJB)
Reflection:
Jesus looked upon the crowds and saw people who were hurting, lost, confused, and searching for hope. His response was not frustration—it was compassion. He reminded His disciples that the harvest was plentiful, meaning there are countless people around us who are ready to hear the truth, receive encouragement, and experience the love of God.
The challenge was never the size of the harvest. The challenge was the lack of workers willing to step into the field.
Many believers spend years receiving God’s Word, attending church, listening to sermons, and growing in knowledge. While spiritual growth is important, we were never called to simply absorb the Word. We were called to share it. The Gospel was never meant to stop with us; it was meant to flow through us.
Ask yourself: When God opens a door for a conversation, do I walk through it? When someone is hurting, do I offer hope? When someone is searching, do I point them to Christ? Or am I standing on the sidelines watching while the harvest waits?
The harvest is still plentiful today. People are looking for answers, purpose, forgiveness, and hope. God is simply looking for willing workers.
Encouragement:
Don’t underestimate the impact of a simple conversation, a kind word, a testimony, or an invitation. You don’t have to be a pastor, teacher, or theologian to be a worker in God’s harvest field. You simply have to be willing.
Today, ask God to open your eyes to those around you who are ready to hear and give you the courage to share what He has done in your life. The harvest is many. Will you answer the call to work in the field?
