Through Him, Not Through Me
Scripture:
“I can do all things through Him who gives me strength.”
— Philippians 4:13 (CJB)
Reflection:
This is one of the most loved verses in Scripture, yet one of the most misunderstood. The power of this promise is not found in “I can,” but in “through Him.”
Too often, we still try to carry life on our own shoulders, telling ourselves, “I’m strong enough,” while simply asking God to assist us along the way. But that’s not what this verse teaches.
God doesn’t just give us strength so we can remain self-reliant—He is the strength. When we trust ourselves, we exhaust ourselves. When we trust Him, we are sustained.
Encouragement:
You were never meant to make it through the hard seasons by your own ability. Let go of self-reliance and lean fully into Him. It is through His strength, not yours, that you will endure, overcome, and stand firm. Trust Him—not just to help—but to carry you.
