YES and THANK YOU — This Is What Family in Christ Looks Like
Scripture:
“Confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” — James 5:16
“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given to him.” — James 1:5
“Direct my steps according to Your word…” — Psalm 119:133
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…” — Hosea 4:6
Reflection:
There is a difference between saying, “I’ll pray for you,” and actually praying.
There is a difference between encouragement from the flesh and encouragement rooted in the Word.
When someone takes time to send Scripture…
When they remind you to ask for wisdom…
When they call on ABBA to direct your steps…
When they don’t just comfort you, but equip you…
That is what it means to be a brother or sister in Christ.
Trusting God does not mean passively letting life happen. It means actively seeking His wisdom before the storm hits. It means praying before we step. It means asking Him to direct our path instead of reacting when things go wrong.
Many believers miss this part.
We say we trust Him… but we don’t ask for His direction.
We say He’s in control… but we don’t seek His wisdom.
Real love in the Body of Christ looks like this:
Covering one another.
Reminding one another.
Equipping one another.
Standing in the gap for one another.
That text wasn’t just kind words — it was spiritual armor being placed on a brother.
Encouragement:
Be the believer who prays specifically.
Be the believer who sends Scripture.
Be the believer who asks for wisdom daily.
And when someone covers you in prayer like that… say YES and THANK YOU, My Jesus.
That is what it means to be family.
