Yesterday, a brother showed me a bird I had never really paid attention to before — a black vulture. To be honest, it’s not the kind of bird people stop to admire. It’s not colorful like a macaw or majestic like an eagle. Most people see it and immediately think something negative.

 

But after learning more about it, I discovered something important: the black vulture plays a critical role in the world around it. While others may overlook it because of how it looks, it serves a purpose creation depends on.

 

And it made me think about people.

 

The world celebrates the “beautiful birds.” The talented. The successful. The polished. The ones everyone notices and admires.

 

But there are many people who feel overlooked… judged because of their appearance, their past, their struggles, or because they don’t fit the world’s definition of important.

 

Yet God never measures worth the way the world does.

 

Every person has purpose.
Every person has value.
Every person was created intentionally by God.

 

Some roles are visible.
Others are behind the scenes.
But unseen does not mean unimportant.

 

Never let the opinions of people convince you that you matter less simply because you don’t look like everyone else or because your life doesn’t appear impressive on the outside.

 

God created you with purpose, and this world would be missing something without you.

Encouragement:

You do not have to look like someone else to matter. Your value is not found in appearance, popularity, or status. Your value is found in the God who created you with purpose.
