You Are Never Alone
Scripture
“And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—the Spirit of truth.”
— John 14:16–17 (NKJV)
One of the questions I was recently asked was, “What is the Holy Spirit, and what happens when you talk to Him?”
I love that question because so many people wonder the same thing but are afraid to ask.
Before Jesus ascended into heaven, He made a promise to His disciples. He told them He would not leave them alone. He promised to send a Helper—a Comforter—to be with them forever. That Helper is the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit isn’t just a feeling or an idea. He is God living within every believer.
Have you ever felt that gentle conviction telling you, “Don’t do that”? Or that tug on your heart to stop and help someone? Have you ever been reading God’s Word and suddenly understood something in a way you never had before? That is often how the Holy Spirit works. He guides us, convicts us, comforts us, teaches us, and continually points us back to Jesus Christ.
One of my favorite truths about the Holy Spirit is that He intercedes for us.
Many people tell me, “I don’t know how to pray.”
The truth is, prayer is simply talking with God. But there are moments when life hurts so deeply that words just won’t come. There are times when all we can do is sit quietly before God with tears in our eyes.
Romans tells us that in those moments, the Holy Spirit intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. He knows exactly what’s on our hearts, even when we can’t express it ourselves. He carries those prayers before the Father.
I rely on the Holy Spirit every day. I ask Him for wisdom before making decisions. I ask Him to reveal areas in my life that still need to change. I ask Him to help me let go of the burdens my flesh keeps trying to carry. When I feel anxious, uncertain, or overwhelmed, He reminds me of God’s promises and fills my heart with peace.
Everything I do is through Jesus Christ, in His name and for His glory. The Holy Spirit is the One who walks beside me every step of the way, reminding me of who Christ is and who I am because of Him.
If you’ve accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are never alone. God’s Spirit lives within you. He is your Comforter, your Guide, your Teacher, your Advocate, and your constant companion.
What an incredible gift God has given us.
Today’s Challenge
Spend a few quiet minutes today simply talking to God. Then stop talking… and listen. Open His Word and ask the Holy Spirit to teach you something new. He is always present, always faithful, and always pointing you closer to Christ.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for keeping Your promise to never leave us alone. Thank You for giving us the Holy Spirit to comfort us, guide us, convict us, and strengthen us each day. Help us to recognize Your leading, trust Your guidance, and surrender every burden to You. Teach us to listen more closely to Your voice through Your Word and to walk faithfully with You every day. In the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
God bless,
