You Didn’t Go There for That

Scripture (CJB):

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in the Messiah Yeshua for good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

— Ephesians 2:10

Reflection:

I went to San Antonio for a conference.

I went to build relationships, talk technology, spend time with colleagues, and explore new opportunities.

But God had other plans.

I didn’t go there looking to minister.

I didn’t go there expecting divine appointments.

Yet the moment I simply acknowledged who I am in Christ—without fear, without apology—God opened doors I never could have planned.

A simple word written on a name tag led to real conversations.

Real conversations led to shared struggles.

Shared struggles led to prayer.

And prayer led to new brothers and sisters in Christ.

Not religion.

Not titles.

Not man-made systems.

Just people rooted in Christ, walking it out together.

I watched a brother live out the gospel that night—not in words, but in action—leaving the comfort of the ninety-nine to go after the one. And I was reminded: this is what it looks like to walk like Jesus.

God doesn’t just meet us in churches.

He meets us in conference halls, restaurants, sidewalks, and late-night conversations.

He places us exactly where we need to be—often when we think we’re there for something else entirely.

Encouragement:

Don’t underestimate where God can use you.

Don’t downplay who you are in Him.

And never be afraid to openly walk in your faith.

You may think you’re showing up for work, for travel, or for opportunity—

but God may be showing up to build His Kingdom through you.

Be available.

Be obedient.

And watch what He does.
