You Don’t Need to Know All the Details

Have you ever wanted God to show you the entire plan before you’re willing to take the first step?

I was thinking about something my dad used to tell me whenever I’d ask too many questions. He’d smile and say, “Son, you don’t need to know. If you needed to know, I’d tell you.”

As I reflected on that, I realized how often we do the same thing with God. We want to know where He’s taking us, how everything will work out, and what the ending looks like before we’re willing to move.

But that’s not how faith works.

Think about when someone gives you a task. They don’t always hand you every detail at once. They’ll say, “Start here. When you finish this, I’ll give you the next step.” They know that giving you the whole picture too early might overwhelm you or distract you from what’s right in front of you.

God often leads us the same way.

He doesn’t hide the future to frustrate us. He withholds it because He loves us. He knows what we’re ready for, and He knows that our faith grows one step at a time.

Too often we become paralyzed because we’re trying to see the finish line instead of simply taking the next step.

If God has placed something in front of you today, don’t wait until you understand the entire journey. Trust Him enough to take that first step. As you walk, He’ll guide your next one. When it’s time to turn, He’ll show you. When it’s time to stop, He’ll let you know.

Our job isn’t to figure out the whole plan.

Our job is to trust the One who already knows it.
