You Never Know Who God Is Using

For quite some time, I’ve kept small Jesus figurines and Scripture cards on my desk at work. Everyone in the office knows they’re not decorations—they’re there for anyone who needs a little hope, encouragement, or a reminder of God’s love. No questions asked. If your heart needs one, simply take one.

This morning, a friend texted me a picture of one of those Scripture cards and a little Jesus figurine sitting on her desk with the words, “Almost made me cry this morning!”

At first, she thought I had left it there.

I smiled and told her, “That wasn’t me.”

Which means someone else saw her, cared about her, walked over to my desk, picked up those items, and quietly placed them on hers.

That simple realization made the moment even more beautiful.

Sometimes God doesn’t just use one person to encourage another—He creates a chain of kindness. One person provides the opportunity. Another takes a step of obedience. Someone else receives the blessing. And through it all, God receives the glory.

It reminded me that there are people all around us who care more than we realize. Sometimes we never know who God is prompting to remind us that we are seen, loved, and never alone.

“Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NKJV)

Today, be willing to be the person who quietly leaves the note, sends the text, says the prayer, or offers the encouragement. You may never know how deeply it touches someone’s heart.

And if you’re the one receiving that unexpected kindness, remember this:

God often whispers, “I see you. I haven’t forgotten you,” through the hands of someone else.
