Your Body Is a Temple – Strength in All Three

July 17, 2025, 8:27 AM

“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.”

—1 Corinthians 6:19–20

We often talk about spiritual health. But honoring God with your body and your emotions matters just as much. Why? Because you were created to be whole—physically, emotionally, and spiritually. When one part is out of sync, it affects the others. But when all three are in alignment, you are equipped to face anything this world throws your way.

Let’s break it down:

🔹 Physical Strength

Anyone who works out knows this: you can’t just train legs and neglect the upper body, or vice versa. The legs may carry the body, but your arms and back are constantly used. And none of it works without a strong core—the center that stabilizes and supports your entire frame.

Your spiritual life is your core.

Without a strong spiritual core, everything else eventually collapses. Your faith in Christ is what gives you balance, stability, and endurance.

🔹 Emotional Strength

If you’re emotionally worn down, you’ll feel it everywhere. You’ll lack the motivation to work out. You’ll stop reaching out. You’ll withdraw. The enemy loves to isolate you emotionally—because it weakens your will to grow in every area.

That’s why community is vital. I’ve found that in the Men’s Alliance Waymaker Tribe here in Mansfield. These brothers lift one another up physically, spiritually, and emotionally. We train together. We pray together. We show up even when we don’t feel like it. Because consistency builds strength.

🔹 Spiritual Strength

You can be physically strong and emotionally stable, but if you’re spiritually dry, the weight of the world will still break you. Only the Spirit of God can give you true endurance, lasting peace, and eternal purpose.

But here’s the key: when one area is weak, the other two can hold you up.

If your emotions take a hit, your spiritual and physical discipline can carry you. If your body feels weak, your spirit and your brothers can lift you. And when your spirit feels tired, your habits and community can help you find your fire again.

So I ask you:

Are you growing in all three?

Are you training your core—your spirit?

Are you staying emotionally present and physically engaged?

Don’t do this alone. God didn’t design you to walk solo.

Join us. Grow with us. Get stronger in every way. If not us find your place find your tribe.
